SERVICE OVERVIEW

What is HDD?  HDD, or Horizontal Directional Drilling; is a quick, efficient and clean way to install underground pipes. It involves the use of a bore head of any diameter to create a small opening underground to install any pipe.

Why HDD?  Unlike other methods of excavation, HDD does not require opening of large areas of pavements, therefore reducing the footpring of pipe installation and the need to reinstate large excavated areas. HDD may be conducted under gardens or nature strips and not cause any damage to the surface above it. HDD can cover long distances, to install pipes of almost any length. Furthermore, it is a good way to avoid time consuming excavation of heavy rocks, since HDD can be used for slate, sand and rocks of any hardness!

How does HDD work?  HDD involves the use of a drilling machine. The machine uses a rotating bore head to make its way from the surface to any depth no matter the conditions. When the machine reaches the required depth it will be accurately tracked from the surface by sonar technology to ensure that the bore head is in the correct location.
